GRANT AND KITTITAS COUNTIES

Project Title: Columbia River Bridge (Vantage vicinity) Contract #: Contract 6387 Project Work Location: I-90 - MP 137.41 to MP 137.63 Project Description: Cleaning and painting the metal surfaces of Bridge 90/180.

Current Week Activities: Work is scheduled for Tuesday through Friday from 6:00 am to 4:00 pm. The right lane, both east and westbound will be closed. A wide load restriction for all loads over 12 ft. wide will be in effect. Flaggers will assist motorist through the work zone.

No work will be done on Monday, September 2nd, in observance of the Labor Day holiday.

For the duration of this project through late September, there will be a wide load restriction for all loads over 12 ft. wide. Wide loads enroute both eastbound and westbound must use alternate routes. Alternate routes are via Wenatchee on SR 28 and US 97 or via Yakima on SR 82 and SR 24. The restriction will be in place 24 hours a day until further notice. Loads over 12 ft. wide may be granted night movement approval from the hours of 7:00 pm to 3:00 am on a case by case basis only.

Hi everyone. We are going to have the annual permit training this fall with a change in format but in once again in the Tacoma and Moses Lake areas again. The training will be held on September 17th and 18th in Tacoma. The training in Moses Lake will be on September 24th and 25th. Each day will be divided into two classes. The morning classes will be the "Basic" class and in the afternoon we will offer an "Advanced" class. Individuals can stay for both classes if they desire or pick just one. We hope this flexability will provide an opprotunity for everyone to participate.

If there is a need for overnight accommodations, notify MCS and we will help make arrangements. There is a block of room

I-90 across Lake Washington will be closed for 6 1/2 hours on Sunday August 18, 2002.

Triathlons Close Two Highways This Weekend

SEATTLE - The Interstate 90 Center Roadway across Lake Washington will be closed from 5 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, August 18, for the annual Danskin women's triathlon. The main eastbound and westbound lanes of I-90 will remain open during the event.

State Route 202 between Duthie Hill Road and 308th Street SE near Fall City will also be closed on Saturday, August 17, for the Friends of Beaver Lake Triathlon. Motorists are advised to find alternate routes and avoid this area during this time.

The width restriction on SR 162 Mile post 17.0 has been taken off. The restriction was for 10 foot wide loads.

SR 2 mile east of Everett milepost .02 to milepost 3.63 no overwidth loads allowed. This restriction will start

August 1, 2002 and go until August 24, 2002.

Wide Load Restriction:

On Thursday and Friday only, there will be a wide load restriction for all loads over 12 ft. wide at the Exit 31 off-ramp connecting westbound SR 82 to westbound US 12. To access westbound US 12 from westbound SR 82 during this wide load restriction, it is recommended that wide loads proceed westbound on SR 82 to Exit 29 as a point of turn-around. Wide loads could then backtrack on eastbound SR 82 using the Exit 31 off-ramp to connect with westbound US 12. The restriction will be in place starting at 5:30 am, Thursday, July 25, and continue through 6:30 pm. on Friday, July 26.
